Hungarian Exodus – L'Exode Hongrois
The Hungarian Experience in Canada

An Exhibition commemorating Canada 's response to the Refugee Crisis in 1956-57and the lives, struggles and achievements of the 37,565 Hungarian refugees who immigrated to and settled in Canada following the Revolution of 1956

Chronology of the Exhibition:

1. Official Opening: University of Toronto , Munk Center for International Studies, Ontario :

“1956: Year of Crises: Hungary & Suez,” a four day Conference organized by the Centre for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at the Munk Centre for International Studies at the University of Toronto

Saturday, September 30th , 2006, along with the exhibit, a documentary film was shown: “50 Years to Find My Heart,” about the incredible, moving stories of the refugees who came to Canada.
This documentary was broadcast on OMNI Television in 2007 and re-broadcast in 2008.
